Hey friends - as promised, on episode 137, I'm going to provide you with some simple WAV Test tones for you to use to test your gear. Feel free to save them and use them for checking your gear. I have 4 different test tone files for you to use and hopefully they will be of help to you when checking out your rig for any issues.
If you've listened to my latest podcast episode, then you heard me going on and on about the Fryette Power Station 2. I LOVE this unit and want more people to hear about it, so I decided to write a blog post review all about it. I'll be very thorough about the pros, cons, what it is, how it works, why it works, and why you need one. I want to be thorough because this is a deep unit with a lot of functionality, so let's get started.
Hello friends. It's good to be back after a temporary hiatus. The short version of the story is that I got incredibly busy last summer, and then in the fall, and then in the winter...and the weeks turned into months and before you knew it, I hadn't put out a podcast episode in a long time! I HAVE done some youtube videos, but just a few. I'm glad to be back. I hope you continue to be a listener and supporter. Thank you for the kind emails and questions while I was away.
I've been making records for about 11 years now, and I've seen and worked with just about every type of musician out there, in every genre, and every age range. Part of my job is to help musicians be their best selves and to help them improve every time they walk into the studio. To further my efforts in doing so, I thought I would write out the "Top 15 Pitfalls of the Recording Musician." These are things that I've seen time and time again, regardless of experience or skill level, that I think more musicians should focus and practice on. If you think you've learned it all, or don't need to practice these things, you're already behind the curve.
Let's get started.
Do YOU know the difference between soundproofing and sound treatment? What about the difference between dBV, dBVU, and dBv? What about the difference between Vibrato and Tremolo? If you've ever wanted to know the real definitions to some of the most commonly confused audio terms out there, then keep reading.
